How We Price Websites

This is just placeholder text. Don’t be alarmed, this is just here to fill up space since your finalized copy isn’t ready yet.

Introduction

When we founded PixelWyse, we knew from the start that we wouldn’t be offering the typical “three web design packages.” Every business is unique, and so are its website needs. While fixed packages can be efficient, they often force clients into predefined boxes rather than delivering a site tailored to their exact requirements.

Instead, our pricing is flexible and based on an hourly rate, adjusted for a variety of factors. Below, we break down the main elements that influence the cost of a website.

Factors That Affect Website Pricing

Number of Pages

This one’s straightforward: more pages mean higher costs. For many small businesses, a simple 5-page website is perfectly sufficient. Larger companies with a broader range of services may need 20+ pages. The right size depends entirely on the scope of your business.

Page Size

Each page is made up of sections (e.g., hero banner, product overview, pricing, testimonials). Larger pages with more sections naturally take longer to design and build, which impacts cost.

Project Timeline

On average, most websites take 3–10 weeks to design and build, depending on complexity. If a client needs a faster turnaround, we can accelerate the process—but this requires additional hours in a shorter timeframe, which increases the overall cost.

Project Revisions

We work closely with clients throughout the design process to ensure everything aligns with their needs. Once the scope and deliverables are agreed upon, we begin building.

If significant design changes are requested after this stage, it often requires reworking large parts of the site. Since this changes the original scope, extra costs apply. We’re always upfront with clients about these adjustments.

Website Functionality

Basic websites include simple functionality such as a contact form (included in our starting price of £500, excluding software licences).

Many businesses, however, need more advanced features—like booking forms, dashboards, or payment systems. These significantly enhance usability and performance but come with additional integration costs (software licences are charged separately).

E-Commerce Websites

E-commerce sites are more complex, as they include:

Product catalogues (categories, filters, search)

Shopping cart & checkout flow

Payment processing (Stripe, PayPal, Klarna, etc.)

Inventory management (stock levels, SKUs)

Shipping & tax calculators

Customer accounts (order history, saved addresses, wishlists)

Because of these unique requirements, we use a separate pricing structure for e-commerce. Get in touch with us for details.

Website Security

Every website we build includes an SSL certificate as standard. We also offer:

Security plugin integration (from £50, depending on requirements)

Ongoing security management through our maintenance plans

We always recommend implementing at least some security measures beyond SSL for reliable protection.

SEO

While we’re not SEO specialists, we can set up basic SEO for your site for a small additional fee. For full-scale optimisation, many specialists charge £500+ per month, so we’re transparent about where our service ends.

Branding

Branding is typically included in our design process. Extra costs only apply if a client requires a new logo or a custom typeface.

Graphic Assets

We always encourage clients to use their own photos, as authentic visuals build trust and credibility. This can be done professionally or even with a good-quality phone camera.

To save time, we recommend providing images in the correct dimensions.

When custom photos aren’t available, we can provide AI-generated images or high-quality stock photos (licensing costs are passed on).

We don’t usually charge for editing images unless the volume is significant (e.g., 50+ photos).
